Award Winning ‘Halloween Girl’
Graphic Novel Series Returns
with a Heartbreaking & Horrifying Prequel
With the success of his critically acclaimed graphic novel, HALLOWEEN GIRL Book One: Promises to Keep, Emmy® Award-Winning writer, Richard T. Wilson chose to return to the beginning of Charlotte’s story for his second installment, ‘Dead Reckoning’.
“I already had two books ready to go but then I thought now might be a good time to tell Charlotte’s origin story instead. People seemed curious after the first book…” says Richard. But he got more than he bargained for, when he made the decision to expand his 2014 screenplay.
“The original story was written the year I lost my mom and it proved very cathartic. However, as anyone who’s lost a loved one knows, the grieving process can continue for a very long time - which is exactly what I discovered with ‘Dead Reckoning’.”
The story takes place ten years after Charlotte’s tragic death, the result of a drunk driver on Halloween night. Charlotte begins to reappear to her mother, Marie, in a series of nightmares - or are they? Only adding to her distress is the news that her young son, Luke now has a mysterious teenage friend he calls ‘The Halloween Girl’ - and her name is Charlotte. Has Charlotte really returned - and is Marie’s dark secret now in danger of being revealed…?
Reuniting with members of Book One’s creative team, illustrator, Eleonora Garofolo and letterer, Carlotta Cesareo only deepened the already emotional story. Garofolo and Cesareo, bring an innate passion to the project that shines through on every page. Wilson considers himself ‘very lucky’ to be working with such ‘an incredibly gifted team’.
Regarding the future of ‘Halloween Girl’, there are at least two more books in the series and Hollywood interest in the characters only continues to grow. So - STAY TUNED!
The book is now available for Pre-Sale which includes autographed copies by the author. This exclusive Pre-Sale is only available at Mad Shelley Comics. The book goes into wide release Oct. 1st.

The Entire Series of the Acclaimed Graphic Horror Novel, HALLOWEEN GIRL is Now Available!
Following rave reviews and critical acclaim for Vol 1-4, Richard T. Wilson’s entire Halloween Girl graphic novel series has just been released!
The Emmy® Award-Winning, writer-filmmaker, describes his latest project as a ‘supernatural odyssey with a healthy dose of reality’. “After all these years, this feels like the first thing I’ve written in a way. I feel like my whole life, I’ve been punching through the darkness like the ‘Halloween Girl’ - but this is the first time I’ve actually written about it!” says Wilson.
What is the ‘Halloween Girl’? An angsty, teen ghost named Charlotte (aka ‘Halloween Girl’) and her wise-cracking, supernatural gal pal, Poe who battle diabolic, secret society, The Hollow for the soul of their hometown Crystal Springs - and their own salvation. Taking its cues from sources as disparate as 70’s horror comics and classic literature, ‘Halloween Girl’ began its life as an acclaimed short film Wilson wrote and directed in 2015 to process his mother’s passing, before spinning off into the award winning sister web series, ‘Under the Flowers.’.
Following the release of the web series, Wilson took a deep dive into the angst-ridden ghost’s world, aided by a group of gifted illustrators from around the world. Early issues were released to critical acclaim, but amidst the joy, Wilson’s life-long battle with an anxiety disorder finally caught up with him. After seeking help, Wilson says his life has gone from black and white to color, and the ‘Halloween Girl’ reflects that journey.
Muse for the Halloween Girl film, Under the Flowers web series and graphic novel, acclaimed singer-songwriter Charlotte Martin has written an original song to promote the novel, which you can listen to above. Between Martin’s soulful inspiration and a team of illustrators Wilson describes as ‘heaven sent’, ‘Halloween Girl’ promises to be a supernatural adventure like no other this spooky season - in this world, or beyond.
The entire graphic novel series is now available for order from all comic shops and book stores including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
Retailers can order the book directly from IngramSpark (ISBN #: 979-8-218-08431-8).
